A small kart circuit formed part of an amusement park beside Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas near Corte do Cantagalo in the early 1970s. Historical photographs also show pedal boats and miniature golf on the same reclaimed land.

Historic karting beside the Lagoa
Photographs preserved by Brazil’s National Archive show a small kart circuit in an amusement park opposite the former Lagoa quarry, near Corte do Cantagalo.
An early-1970s attraction
The reclaimed site also contained miniature golf, pedal boats and rides. Images date it to around 1970 and the wider 1970s, but its commercial name, operator, exact dates, prices and vehicle specifications are unknown.
Later transformation
The area became part of Parque do Cantagalo and the kart circuit disappeared during redevelopment. A present-day kart attraction in the park has not been confirmed.
Approximate position
The marker indicates Parque do Cantagalo near the pedal-boat quay, not the precise outline of the vanished track.
