Karting at Tivoli Park
Tivoli Park was a major Rio amusement park through the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, and historical accounts identify its kart circuit as a particularly successful attraction.
Operating history
The park arrived at Lagoa in 1973 and also offered a Ferris wheel, roller coaster, ghost train and other rides. Track dimensions, vehicle specifications, prices and age rules have not survived reliably.
Closure in 1995
After a dispute over the public land, Tivoli opened for the last time on 17 December 1995. Parque dos Patins replaced it and no kart circuit remains.
A distinct Lagoa track
This was not the smaller Cantagalo amusement-park circuit elsewhere around the Lagoa. The map point marks today’s park, not Tivoli’s exact former layout.
