Detailed guide

A major historic Rio circuit

Kartódromo Maqui Mundi stood on the former Rio–Santos/BR-8 corridor in Recreio dos Bandeirantes.

Competition history

The venue hosted Carioca championship racing by June 1966 and the Brazilian Kart Championship in 1976, alongside many other state events.

Closure and reopening

The circuit temporarily closed in 1979, sending at least one championship race to the Rio autodrome, then reopened in 1980. Motorsport activity is still documented in 1989, but its final closure date is unknown.

Lost location

Later sources describe Maqui Mundi as extinct. The map reference indicates the historic kilometre corridor; the former entrance and circuit footprint have not been securely reconstructed.
