Detailed guide
The Track Layout
The indoor circuit at Velocity Raceway is designed for technical precision and speed.
- Design: The track features a mix of tight hairpins and acceleration zones that test your ability to carry momentum.
- Environment: Being fully indoors, the track offers perfect racing conditions 365 days a year, safe from Saskatchewan's snow and rain. The electric nature of the karts means the facility is clean, quiet, and free of exhaust fumes.
The Karts
The venue operates a fleet of world-class Sodi RTX electric karts.
- Instant Power: Electric motors provide 100% torque instantly, meaning these karts accelerate out of corners significantly faster than traditional gas rentals.
- Speed: Adult karts are capable of reaching speeds up to 85 kph (53 mph).
- Junior Racers: The speed of the karts can be adjusted remotely by the track marshals, allowing younger drivers (Ages 8+) to race safely at reduced speeds while learning the racing line.
Requirements & Safety
To ensure fair and safe racing, there are strict requirements:
- Height: All drivers (Junior and Adult) must be at least 52 inches (132 cm) tall to safely operate the pedals.
- Age: Junior races are for ages 8-15; Adult races are for ages 16+.
- Weight: There is a maximum weight limit of approximately 250 lbs (113 kg) for the safety and performance of the karts.
Facilities & Extras
The Stoked Centre is a massive "FEC" (Family Entertainment Centre). Once you finish racing, you can explore:
- Splitsville Bowling: Luxury 10-pin bowling lanes with interactive games.
- SkyRail & SkyTrail: A high-ropes obstacle course and an indoor zipline that soars over the facility.
- Stoked Kitchen & Bar: A full-service restaurant serving craft food and drinks, perfect for refueling after your heat.
