No. There are currently no petrol rental go-kart tracks operating in Dunedin city.
Local Tip: You may see listings for "Dunedin Bike Hire" or "Marlow Park"—these are pedal karts or electric trikes for kids, not racing karts.
You will need to travel out of the city:
- Cromwell (Central Otago): Highlands Motorsport Park is the best outdoor rental track in the South Island (approx. 2.5 hours drive).
- Invercargill (Southland): Xtreme Karts offers indoor drift racing (approx. 2.5 hours drive).
It is at Milners Road, North Taieri.
Directions: Head towards Mosgiel and follow the signs for North Taieri. It is near the Silverstream water race.
Yes. Spectators are welcome on club race days (check their Facebook page for dates). Entry is usually free, and it is a great way to see 100km/h karts in action.
