KartSport Manawatu FAQs

Does KartSport Manawatu have rental karts?

No. The club does not operate a commercial hire fleet. You cannot turn up and pay for a 10-minute ride. (For rental karts in Palmerston North, see the "Explore More" section below).

How do I book a "Have a Go" day?

You must register your interest via the KartSport Manawatu website or their Facebook page. These days are scheduled periodically throughout the year.

What is the minimum age to start racing?

Children can join the Cadet class from 6 years old. The club has a strong junior development program to teach kids driving skills and racecraft safely.

Can I use the track if I have my own kart?

Yes, but you must be a member of a KartSport New Zealand affiliated club and hold a current practice license. Members can purchase a key for track access on practice days.

Is the track open to the public for viewing?

Yes, on race days. The facilities are open to spectators, and there is usually a food truck or canteen operating during club meetings.
