About Rye House Kart Raceway
Rye House is the spiritual home of British karting. It lacks the air-conditioned lobbies of modern indoor franchises, but it makes up for it with soul. The circuit is tight, technical, and famously difficult to master. It serves as a testing ground for owner-drivers during the day and a rental thrill-ride at night. If you want to feel what Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton felt when they were 10 years old, this is the place. It also features Ryeassic Park, a dinosaur-themed adventure park, making it surprisingly good for families with mixed ages (toddlers can play while teens race).

The Karting Experience
- The Karts (Twin Engine):
- Adults (16+): The signature "Le Mans" Twin Engine karts produce around 11-12hp. Because the weight is at the rear (two engines), they have unique handling characteristics—they have massive grip but can snap-oversteer if you lift off the throttle mid-corner. Top speed is approx 60-70mph.
- The Track:
- Stadium Bend: The most famous corner. A fast entry that tightens up. It requires bravery.
- The Hairpins: T1 and T2 are tight overtaking spots where "dive-bombing" is common.
- Warning: The track is narrow compared to Silverstone-style circuits. Overtaking must be done decisively.
Junior & Family Options
- Junior Karts: Single-engine petrol karts for ages 8+ (min height 133cm). These run in separate sessions from the adults.
- Ryeassic Park: A dedicated zone for 3-8 year olds featuring electric "Bambino" karts (coin-op style), crazy golf, and soft play. This is separate from the main race track.
