About TeamSport Docklands

TeamSport Docklands is a giant of the London karting scene. For years, it was known as the "Petrol Cathedral" of East London, but in 2024, it underwent a massive transformation. The fumes are gone, replaced by the whine of high-tech electric motors. Located in Charlton (near the Thames Barrier), this warehouse houses a colossal 800-meter track that remains one of the longest in the capital. The switch to electric has made the venue cleaner, brighter, and—controversially for some—faster off the line.

Detailed guide

The Track Layout

  • The Legacy: This is the same legendary layout that petrol fans loved, but resurfaced for electric grip.
  • Design: It features a complex multi-level system with flyovers and an undulating "rollercoaster" section that tests your bravery.
  • Surface: The new resin surface offers high consistency. Because there is no oil or fuel spillage, the grip is perfectly even around the entire 800m lap.

The Electric Revolution

  • The Karts: The venue now runs the Biz EcoVolt GT. These karts have incredible torque. While petrol karts need to build up revs, these electric machines give you 100% power the moment you touch the pedal.
  • The Boost: Adult races now feature a "Boost Button" on the steering wheel (in specific race formats), giving you a tactical advantage for overtaking on the long straights.
  • No Fumes: The air quality inside is now pristine, meaning no headaches after a 30-minute endurance race.

Facilities

  • Putt Club: The venue also houses a motorsport-themed indoor crazy golf course, making it a dual-threat for stag dos and parties.
  • Bar & Kitchen: A fully licensed bar serves food and drinks (alcohol post-race only).
  • Location: It is tucked away in an industrial estate near the Thames Barrier.
