About Tockwith Karting Yorkshire
Tockwith Karting sits on a former airfield halfway between Wetherby and York, making it the primary outdoor choice for North Yorkshire. Unlike the tight, technical layouts of indoor warehouses, Tockwith uses its space to offer long straights and sweeping corners. The headline attraction is the machinery: Twin-Engine Pro Karts. These machines offer a raw, mechanical driving experience that purists love. It’s less about neon lights and "boost buttons" and more about throttle control and bravery into the braking zones.

The Racing Experience
- The Track: The 700m circuit is flat (airfield) and wide, offering plenty of overtaking opportunities. Because it is tarmac, the grip level is high in the dry.
- Wet Weather: In the rain, the tarmac becomes very slick. The twin engines can easily spin the rear wheels, so you have to be very gentle with the throttle.
- The Karts:
- Adults (14+): Biz Le Mans Twin 320cc. These are the industry standard for outdoor rental racing. They are robust, loud, and fast. The dual engines provide a unique sound and significantly more punch than you get indoors.
- Juniors (8-13): Single-engine cadet karts. They run on the full track, giving kids a proper "big circuit" experience rather than being relegated to a kiddie track.
Format Options
- Iron Man: This is their popular endurance format (30, 45, or 60 mins). It’s a solo endurance test—just you against the track for a solid block of time. Great for fitness!.
- GP Experience: Timed practice sessions where you compete for the fastest lap.
