Feel the adrenaline rush at South West Wales's top karting venues.

In South West Wales, the karting scene has shifted west. With the permanent closure of the main tracks in Swansea, Pembrokeshire is now the region's undisputed motorsport capital. Residents in Swansea and Carmarthenshire typically face a choice: drive east to the pro circuits at Llandow, or head west to Haverfordwest and Tenby for a mix of indoor and outdoor racing.

For Swansea residents, it is important to note that Skidz Karting has permanently closed. There are currently no commercial kart tracks within the city limits. Most drivers now travel approximately 40 minutes east to Llandow (South East Wales) for championship-level outdoor racing, or west to Pembrokeshire for local thrills. In Pembrokeshire, you have three solid options:
  • West Wales Karting (Haverfordwest): The only dedicated indoor track in the region. Located at the County Showground, it features a technical 300m circuit with a grippy tarmac surface. It runs petrol karts and is the reliable choice for racing when the Welsh weather turns wet.
  • Carew Karting (Tenby): A classic outdoor circuit situated on an airfield. It offers a 500m floodlit track and runs powerful 390cc Thunderkarts for adults—some of the most powerful rental karts in Wales. It is widely considered the "driver's choice" in the west.
  • Heatherton World of Activities (Tenby): Best for families and mixed groups. This 300m outdoor track is part of a larger theme park. While shorter than Carew, it still offers 55mph adult karts, but the vibe is more "holiday fun" than serious racing.
For Carmarthenshire (Llanelli/Carmarthen): There are no permanent public kart tracks in Carmarthenshire itself. Residents are perfectly positioned in the middle—it is often an equal distance to drive west to Pembrokeshire or east to Llandow.
