This makes it a favorite for purists who want the sound and smell of traditional racing indoors. For those who prefer the elements, Parkwood Karting offers a 470m outdoor floodlit track near the city centre, running powerful 270cc petrol karts that hit speeds of up to 50mph.
For Rotherham & Doncaster: The primary track for this area is Avago Karting (Swinton/Mexborough). Established in 1996, this indoor circuit is a local institution that has hosted over 350,000 drivers. It is known for its "old school" layout, challenging corners, and competitive leagues.
Doncaster Residents: There is no permanent commercial track in Doncaster town centre. Residents typically drive 15 minutes west to Avago Karting or 20 minutes east to the outdoor Raceway Kart Centre (Blyton) in Lincolnshire.
A Note for Barnsley: Following the permanent closure of Tyke Racing, there are no commercial kart tracks left in Barnsley itself. Residents are best served by:
