About Blue Max Kart Track
Blue Max Kart Club is one of Northern California's oldest and most respected karting facilities, currently celebrating its 5th decade of operation. Located just outside the college town of Davis, the track was originally designed in the 1960s for mini-bikes before evolving into a premier karting circuit. It is known for being a "driver’s track"—technical, twisty, and physically demanding, with elevation changes and challenging corners like the "Hairpin" and "Sweeper" that reward precision over raw horsepower. Unlike commercial tracks, Blue Max is a non-profit club run by its members, fostering a tight-knit, DIY racing community.

The Racing Experience
- Track Layouts: The track is highly configurable. It can be run in forward or reverse directions, and sections can be modified to include or exclude the hairpin ("Short Track" vs. "Long Track"). This variety keeps the racing fresh throughout the season.
- The "Circuit Slayer" Event: A new highlight for the 2026 season. Drivers face a randomized track layout for every session of the day, forcing them to adapt their lines and gearing on the fly. It is a one-day event that levels the playing field between veterans and newcomers.
- Classes: The club supports a full ladder of racing:
- Kid Karts (Ages 5-8): Using Comer or Honda engines.
- LO206: The most popular class for beginners and budget-minded racers, split into Junior, Senior, and Masters divisions.
- Shifters & TAG: High-speed 2-stroke classes for experienced drivers hitting speeds of 60+ mph.
Facilities & Logistics
- Membership: For 2026, an annual family membership is approximately $325. This allows for unlimited practice on open days and reduced race entry fees. It is the most cost-effective option if you plan to visit more than a few times a year.
- Amenities: As a club track, amenities are rustic but functional. There are picnic areas under the trees and a playground for kids, reinforcing the family-friendly vibe. However, there is no fuel, no electricity, and no food service on-site for practice days. Come prepared.
- Location: The entrance is off County Road 102. Look for the track entrance near the water tower/industrial structures; it can be easy to miss if you are driving fast.
