Gatorz Karting — Western US Rotax Racing History

Gatorz Karting promoted the Gatorz Karting Cup and Gatorz Challenge of the Americas, influential Rotax competition series that connected leading tracks and developing drivers across the western United States.

Gatorz Karting is remembered for two closely related Rotax racing series: the regional Gatorz Karting Cup and the winter Gatorz Challenge of the Americas. The program brought strong fields to major western circuits and became an important step between local club racing and national-level competition.

Promoter Andy Seesemann ran the local Gatorz Karting Cup before expanding the concept into the Challenge of the Americas for 2008. Historical calendars include races at Moran Raceway, CalSpeed, Buttonwillow, Willow Springs, Grange Motor Circuit, Phoenix and Tucson. The Gatorz title was later retired, while the Challenge of the Americas continued under its unbranded name.
